
weCHC offers a variety of workshops to help clients in Windsor, Essex County, and Chatham-Kent learn how to manage their health conditions on their own. 1. Take Control of Your Health
A series of group workshops offered once a week for 6 weeks. Clients will work to improve their mental and physical wellness, improving their quality of life and reducing hospitalizations. Workshop series includes:
- Chronic Conditions
- Chronic Pain
- Diabetes
2. Powerful Tools for Caregivers
A 6-week series of 1.5-hour interactive group workshops that help caregivers learn to care for themselves while they care for others. Caregivers learn how to reduce stress, take care of themselves, and increase their ability to make tough decisions.
3. Diabetes, Healthy Feet & You
A 2.5-hour interactive workshop providing support and education on foot care. Participants learn how diabetes affects their feet, identify any foot concerns and learn how to care for their feet daily.
4. Getting the Most from Your Healthcare Appointment
A 1.5-hour interactive workshop focusing on what to do before, during and after an appointment and use action planning to improve health. This workshop helps clients develop skills to communicate more effectively with their healthcare team.
5. Managing Stress with Chronic or Rare Disease
Living with a chronic or rare illness can bring on more stress than we are ready to handle. Learn more about stress and practical tips to manage, while connecting with a group of peers with similar lived experiences.
6. Organizing Your Healthcare
Do you struggle to organize healthcare for yourself or someone else? This workshop will help you prepare for medical appointments, stay organized with treatments, and feel confident in taking care of your own or your loved ones healthcare.
7. Healthy Caregiving
Join us for a workshop designed to help you learn to take care of yourself while caring for others. You’ll learn why mental health matters, explore practical self-care strategies, and discover tools to maintain your own wellbeing while providing support to those who need it.
8. Take Charge of Your Health
Join us for a supportive workshop where you’ll learn practical ways to take charge of your health and the health of those you care about. Together, we’ll explore how to find reliable health information, communicate with healthcare providers, and feel more confident managing health.
